I have a confession to make. Although I’ve been a Leonardo da Vinci fan for over 20 years and I’ve made my pilgrimage to almost every city where his works are displayed (barring St Petersburg and Krakow), I didn’t actually want to see the “The Last Supper”. The painting has been notoriously badly treated over the past six centuries, including by the painter himself.
